If the registry update has stopped your Windows key, follow these actions to fix it:
- Go to the search box, press Win + R, type regedit and press Enter
- Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout
- Remove the line beginning with Scancode Map if you find one
- Close all your programs and reboot your computer.
Normal operation of the Windows key is brought back. It’s important to create a backup of the Registry before you make any changes.
