Hi All
I have one of these wonderful little devices, however, I would like to hook up an extra USB 2.0 port on the Camera header, I have not got the breakout board.
So far, going by the schematic, it does not seem to have worked.
I have wired up pin 1 to GND / 2 to 5V / 3 to Data- / 4 to Data + /
I Assume pin 1 is closest to the other USB 3.0?
Any ideas?????
If you download the gerber fiiles for the enchilda and open them in gerber view you should be able to work it out from there.
I read the schematic the same as you and the bottom view of the connector confirms it: the square pad marks pin 1 and those teeny, tiny data lines can't be mistaken for power connections. Given that some people have reported success, can you be more specific on which OS you're using and what you've tested to confirm whether it works or not? For example, does the output of lsusb change depending on whether or not a device is plugged in?

i am a novice when it comes to electronics im afraid, i was hoping to just create the connection and it would work. i was using Linux Mint, which was a bit power hungry i admit, so i then went to Lubuntu but still no joy, ihave now installed X86 Android 7.1.2 i will try this
I managed to get the Port working for USB 2.0, its a shame there are no ways of uploading pictures here, but if anyone needs any help, feel free to ask. :-)
Hi, any info on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. I too want to skip the USB hub and attach usb devices to the webcam port.

you can use the cables from another assembled jst if you can find
If you do get the required connector and crimps you're really going to need a PA-09 crimper, those crimps are really really tiny.
The easier option might be to buy some pre-crimped PH assemblies from ebay with the matching header and replace the on board header with the PH one.
